A New Beginning

As a maiden post, this won't be terribly long or articulate as I am posting during my "lunch" hour on the night shift. However, I felt the need to place this first footstep into the intention that I have set for myself to chronicle my journey.

I am on the brink of taking a major step forward on my spiritual path as I leave later today to attend a three-day retreat on Whidbey Island, just north of Seattle, WA. I will be an usdi (baby) student under a very respected and gifted medicine woman in this introduction to Native American studies workshop. I am both humbled and honored to have been invited to participate in this event and am very much looking forward to the experience. We will be away from the city on some very pristine property and will be sleeping and attending our teachings on the land itself. My fervent prayer is that Grandfather blesses us with gentle breezes and dry skies for the duration. I'm packing an extra tarp and and my rain gear just in case though. This is Western Washington after all.

Well, I must get back to work, but hope to return with many new experiences to report.
